Provident loans

I have received a letter from the Provident practical loans that says they are paying compensation to customers after 2007. Because the company didn't make sure they were able to afford the loan. Does anyone know if it is genuine or a scam. Several.members of my family have had the same letter. We were all customers at one time or another

Provident are required to pay £169 million in compensation to a specific group of customers so yes it is likely legitimate, but make sure that you go direct to Provident and not to a claims management company who will just take a cut of your money for doing nothing.0
