Do we need a TV Licence?

We today have cancelled our TV license because we don't watch live TV, we have recorded some shows a while ago but still not got around to watching them, we will just watch these and not record anything and watch Netflix
We received an email to confirm we wish to cancel but they say if we use a colour TV we still need a licence.
Or have we got this wrapped around our necks?

That is utter bovine testicles. You only need a licence if you watch programmes as they are broadcast, or if you watch iPlayer. Watching videos, DVDs, catch-up players (except iPlayer) or streaming services (like Netflix) does not require a TV licence.Jenni x0
