Did anyone here encounter the issues with Google's Android system webview on their phones over the past couple of days with not being able to run apps such as BBW Weather etc?

I know it's been apparently resolved and all the apps seem to be working OK now but for some reason my phone is suddenly eating through it's battery. I have a Moto G6 Play that can easily last over 2 days between charges but the last couple of days I've been having to charge it daily.

Check your battery stats to see what is taking up most of the usage.

My sisters Moto G7 Power suffered the issues that Neil describes. I updated her apps as described yesterday and all was then working fine (her Outlook email app was crashing within seconds of opening and her location settings were not working).

I will ask her if her battery is now dropping quicker but she is a light user and only charged it every 2 to 3 days.
