Virgin chasing payment but I can't pass security check

Update I finally go through security - must have been more lenient.
I can't access my joint account that I had with my ex anymore and it will take me longer to try and fight this. 
Agreed to pay £50 rather than £112 they wanted just to put it to bed. As much as it pains me, my time is worth more to me than spending hours fighting them. Thanks for your help.

If you don’t think you owed them anything, why pay?  Email executiveteam@virginmedia.co.uk explain everything, complain, if you are right and you didn’t owe them anything, then at the very least I would expect that £50 back.

For the reasons mentioned above. It would take too much of my time to prove it. Access to old bank accounts. Already spent hours on it and I'm in the process of moving house so other things are priority.
