There is no CCJ risk to her and no high costs risk if you follow our advice. We only see 1% of cases lost, since 2016, going by all reported outcomes from people who followed our advice from defence right through to a hearing or discontinuance.
She can defend and risks nothing. Many cases are discontinued once they see a robust defence and if not then the hearing will likely be by phone, and you can speak for her (lay representative at the hearing) as long as she attends the hearing as well. No need for permission, that is her right, but she is the Defendant, her name and signature on everything.
