Are you able to return the incorrect dimmer?

If not, and if that is a fancy brushed metal cover you have, you can buy a trailing edge dimmer module and fit that to the metal cover rather than buying a complete unit.

I recommend Varilight but there are other good options available. My Varilight dimmers are silent which is important to me as the living room light switch is 2 feet away from my right ear where I normally sit to listen to music and watch TV.

or buy 2 x V COM modules for £22 on ebay and fit them into that switch

I've not yet noticed a difference between V PRO and V COM, there probably is a difference as there are millions of lights and bulbs but every one I've ever used has been fine with either, and the COM is cheaper
