Certifying documents for conveyancing during lockdown

Hello, just had an offer on a house accepted and wondering what everyone else is doing to certify their identity documents in lockdown? I can't quite remember what I did last time when I bought 3 years ago, I think I had to take my passport into a bank branch to be certified. Is there a way to do this from home?

Assuming you mean for your solicitor's purposes, you'll need to check with them what they'll accept as there aren't universal rules.1

Hi, it might depend on what each Solicitor will accept? However, we had to send our original passport and driving licence to our Solicitor via special delivery and she returned the original documents to us via special delivery. I don’t know what everyone else is doing but that was acceptable to our Solicitor.0

When selling my flat, the solicitor used an app by Thirdfort. Expensive but an easy process to verify my identity. All done from my living room.
When purchasing my next property, that solicitor used the Post Office verification method.0 -
I think we just took our documents to the office and stood outside whilst the receptionist photocopied them!0

We went through a broker who we had to send passports too who then certified them. We had them sent first class recorded and they got them next day.
