Is this a retaining wall?

Hello, I have a rather silly question.. I am removing some slabs from my front garden (the whole garden is elevated and surrounded by a retaining wall). I removed the path, next to which is a patch of grass with some rocks dividing it from the path.
I have now removed the rocks (see photo) and noticed they were much bigger than I thought and that the soil level is also much more different than I thought. Have I just removed a retaining wall for that patch? Anything to worry about? The plan is to fill with topsoil up to the same level and put grass there.

It could be called a retaining wall, as it retains a small amount of earth, but I doubt it will collapse and do any damage to anyone.0

Assuming the ground level is similar both sides of that patch, then I doubt they were functional.
Just fill it in & turf it, though allow for it to settle.0 -
Well the path divides two patches: the one in the photo is higher than the one that is not in the photo, although not by that much. I don't need it to be perfectly level though since we never walk there anyway
