Hi all,
I live in England & my wife lives in Scotland. We rushed into getting married and we hardly lived together
We got married in Scotland.
We've been separated for more than 2 years. We have no children together. We have no assets together.

Which is the quickest way to get a divorce ?
Thanks.

You could start divorce proceedings in England, using the online portal. Assuming that your wife cooperates then it can be done fairly quickly.
It would be sensible to have a formal financial order drawn up to provide for a clan break.
Alternatively, your wife could start proceedings in Scotland - I don't think that there is an online option - it would probably make sense for her to make enquiries about timescales - I know in England divorced dealt with on paper are taking longer as many court staff are working from home.
The rules about financial settlements are different in England and Scotland, especially regarding pensipsn, so if either of you had any significant assets or pension built up before you got married that may inform your choice (although in both jurisdictions you can agree aa financial settlement)All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)1 -
I'm English & my wife is Scottish. She always lived in Scotland & I always lived in England. We lived together for less than a month, although we're officially been married for about 4 years.0

Scotland is a lot quicker and cheaper than doing it in England, it was under 8 weeks from start to finish, £125 and I did it myself.
All the info is online, but your ex would have to start it, unless you want to move up here for about 49 days before doing it yourself.
England divorces cost a lot more, there's fees for each step and it takes a lot longer because of it. Again info is online.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
