Green Energy transfer to EDF

Options
Has anyone had their transfer from Green Energy to EDF completed yet? I want to get ahead of the energy price rise on 1st April and have been trying to get information from EDF about my tariff to compare prices. They state they will match Green Energy tariff till September 2021. I want an tariff for 12 months.
You can only contact them via text or whatsapp or a a 0333 (prime number , which I cannot afford to call). The messages I get back from the text/whataspp are, "we have not set up you account yet please wait to be contacted by us".
Any suggestions how I can contact them/change my supplier??

@Tiree54  Just checking  - you mean Green Network Energy don't you ?

The latest is they will be in detailed contact by end March.

Like you - with GNE. I will be sitting tight till September as that effectively is extending my GNE fix due to end in June by nearly  4 months.

By law, calling an 03 number costs exactly the same as calling an 01 or 02 number and qualifies for any free minutes package or call bundle you may have.
    Or call 0800 096 7359.

03 numbers back in the day were "low-call" numbers, a pun on local (ie cheap).  These days calls to 03 numbers cost no more than a national rate call to an 01 or 02 number and must count towards any inclusive minutes in the same way as 01 and 02 calls. These rules apply to calls from any type of line including mobile, BT, other fixed line or payphone.  The current use for these numbers started in 2007.

There is an 0800 number above which will cost you nothing, so you can use that instead.

Not quite.  03 was originally used for geographic codes e.g. 0DA2 DArtford, 0EB3 EastBourne, 0FA4 FAlkirk and expensive long distance rates often applied.
In the 1980s Non-Geographic Numbers were introduced, e.g. Linkline 0345 (genuine Local Rate) which was cheaper if the destination was normally long distance, and 0990 (genuine National Rate) where you paid a surcharge even if the destination was just around the corner.
BT promoted 0345 as 'Lo-Call' to encourage its use by national companies.  Later 0845 and 0990 became 0845 and 0870.
However, the link with local and national rates became broken and 0845 and 0870 numbers often ended up being more expensive than long distance calls (although often mistakenly advertised as Local Rate and National Rate).
03 numbers were introduced in 2007 so that national organisations could use the advanced facilities of a single NGN without callers being surcharged.  In 2014 084/087 numbers were banned from being used for Customer Service purposes.
  • Its a 0333 number??

How much does it cost to call 0333?
Cost to call 0333 numbers. If you are dialling an 0333 number (i.e. any number starting with the range 03, such as 0300, 0333, 0330. 0300, 0330, 0333, 0370 or 0345 numbers), it will cost the same price to call as if you were calling an 01 or 02 landline – including from mobiles.

As per my earlier posts - ae you talking about Green Network Energy ?  If so you will hear from Edf by the end of March.

I had an email a couple of days ago saying they're setting up the account and a welcome pack will be sent out 'shortly'. I do think it has taken too long. When I do transfer of undertakings at work it doesn't take anywhere near this long to set up accounts. I was going to compare alternatives, but the inordinate amount of time it's taken EDF to give me my details make it odds on I'll be moving when I do get them.

I am worried about my Warm Home Discount. Back last Novemebr I applied to Green Network Energy under disabled/low income criteria and all I ever had back was a note in my app that said "your claim is being processed". Nothing Since.

On contacting eon all they say is "they will honour all accepted claims by Green Network" .. but I cannot find out if my claim WAS accepted, although it should have been as it has been every other year. Eon just keep saying we cannot do anything until accounts set up, but my eon account is set up and they have set up DD and meter readings. That £140 makes a huge difference to us with old electric storage heating that our HA will not upgrade. Any advice?
