COVID Fine - Timescales

Hi,

In the event of a person breaking covid lockdown regulations, is there a timescale between act of covid rule break and when the police must issue the fines within?

For example, if someone breaks covid rules in November, is there a minimum timescale that the police have to issue the fine via post to that person? If so what is it.

I'm sure I may have read years ago for parking or speeding fines, there is a minimum timescale that the fine must be issued by. So wondered if its the same here.

Often it is an on spot fine. However, if its like opening a business when you should not, then I guess it can take a while.

November suggests it was when the national lockdown was in place.  Presuming the law was broken (not just guidance) then presumably it'll be like any other crime, in that you can still be charged at any time but the more time that elapses the harder it will be for anyone to give a 100% accurate account of what happened on a particular day.
