Seeking advice/recommendations for buildings/contents insurance on Grade 2 listed property

I am in the process of purchasing a Grade 2 listed property and need to have suitable home insurance in place at the point of exchange.
The problem I have is that for online quotes (from companies that specialise in listed building insurance) I require a estimation of rebuild cost which I don’t have. I have checked our mortgage offer, building survey and structural survey but unfortunately do not have an estimated cost.
Has anyone else had this issue and also does anyone have any recommendations on a company or insurance broker.
Many thanks in advance for any advice!

Would be a bit odd for a lender not to give a clue about what amount of cover they require you to have - are you sure it isn't there somewhere? You didn't get a copy of their valuation? Failing that, ask your surveyor (did they give you a market valuation?).0

It is normal for the lenders valuation and your building survey to tell you the sum insured to use. Ask the lender for the information as they will have it.

Grade II is not particularly an issue but suggests age could be a thing. We used NFU as we have Grade 2 listed buildings - funnily enough not the house though and our property was typical of what they cover.

Thankyou both for your help and recommendations, the bank provided the information and I have now been able to sort the cover. Your responses were much appreciated!0

One of the biggest issues, is ensuring that the buildings sum insured is sufficient as to avoid 'average' being applied in the event of under insurance. Please err on the side of caution, as an under-insured house can can cause many issues in the event of a claim0

I took out contents insurance two days ago, online. After making payment, when I looked at my bank account later that night they had taken a further £39. On CHAT just now they told me I had asked for emergency cover. I had not but somehow it had been ticked but the money was taken afterwards and I was not even aware. Why would they separate this? I paid manually online, so why did they not ask for payment in this way for the extra cover? I would have been alerted and checked back.
I was not happy with their explanation on CHAT and asked to cancel the policy. It would cost me £49.99 to cancel! Where is the cooling off period? The policy cost £61.94 (before the emergency cover).
I am appalled and feel had.
They should add any extras before payment to enable double-checking. There was nothing to say that I had chosen emergency cover for £39. the money was just taken. This can't be right.0 -
