Need some help deciding which boiler to go for. It’s for a rental property, 7 rads, small 3 bed house, brand new install, replacing storage heaters. The installer has several options for the boiler, the first two included in the price and further two at an additional £250 cost, i like the idea of a long warranty as id be getting an annual safety check and service anyway, not sure if the upgrade cost is worth it, never heard of Alpha boilers but 7 year warranty with no additional cost is tempting.
No additional cost:
Worcester Bosch 2000 life 30kw - 2 year warranty
Or
Alpha Etec 28 - 7 year warranty
£250 upgrade:
Ideal logic C30 - 10 year warranty
Or
Viessmann C50 - 5 year warranty

looks like the standard warranty on a Worcester Greenstar 2000 is 5 years (10 on heat exchanger)? https://www.worcester-bosch.co.uk/products/boilers/directory/greenstar-2000 The Greenstar 2000 apparently replaced the plain 2000 last year.
If you want to move up the Worcester range then you can get up to 12 years subject to approved installer & filter. They will all be dependent on an annual service.
I have a Worcester, my mother an equivalent Alpha (the flueing better suited her installation) & I have no doubt that the Worcester is the better boiler - but both of these are 10 years old so things may have changed. Viesmann I would put on a par with Worcester.1 -
Normally WB come with at least 5 years and can be more depending on the installer used, however this install is part of the ECO scheme and as a grant is offered you only get two year warranty, you can take the service plan at £17 pm but I’d still have to get the gas safety check done. Thanks0

DD just had a Veissmann fitted, it is very good and quiet. Make sure the installer is on the manufacturers list or you do not get the 10 year guarantee.0

There is a lot of useful information on this website (look at the links):

A large number of Councils favour Intergas boilers as they have very few parts and if things do go wrong they are easy to repair. One of the Intergas models now comes with a 12 year warranty.

I’ll get it serviced every year and gas safety check is compulsory for landlords hence favouring one with a long warranty. I know some of early Ideal boiler were rubbish but the Ideal Logic is better, also they seem fairly relaxed about the service requirement, I just had to show them the gas safety certificate that had service box ticked, ie service and gas check done same time, tenant had lost the service book.
Does anyone have experience of Alpha boilers, it’s cheaper but does have a 7 year warranty, reviews generally seem to be good as well.

Alpha I don’t like at all. But then not do I like Worcester. The logic (I assume max) is a good boiler. Fitted loads and honestly, not has 1 come back at all.I also like the Baxi 830....basically same as logic and comes with a filter in the box and 10 year warranty. Cheaper than a logic too....I’ve also fitted loads without a comeback.Every fitter will have their own opinions though.0
