Investing 'surplus' cash that isn't for retirement?

At least 10% of my income. I don’t really see it as spending though, it’s investing (in others), which is very rewarding. It obviously depends on what you are doing to enjoy as yourself as much as possible but it is very enjoyable to do good, it lasts a lot longer and is more fulfilling than doing stuff for yourself.Mickey666 said:

I've tended to invest all my 'surplus' cash on enjoying myself as much as possible. What else is it (and life) for? There are lots of options for doing good! You don’t even have to spend money, e.g. giving blood. Global poverty is certainly an area where you can do a lot of good. There are some very effective charities in this area. I highly recommend the book “Doing Good Better” by William MacAskill if you’re interested in doing good.No one has ever become poor by giving0
