British gas discounts when switching away

Hey guys
There was a similar thread on here recently but can't for the life of me find it.
Just posting if its any use to others.
I'm switching away from British gas as their excellent fix is ending in April.
British gas contacted me today to see if they could keep me and were offering 10% off their tariffs if I stayed. The options where their standard variable or home energy fix April 2022 v2.
I know when posted before people were skeptical whether it was a true discount or being duped with "direct debit figures" it is truly a discount on your overall charges rather than any change in direct debit amount. I.e. a 10% discount on unit rate and standing charge.
Wasn't the most competitive deal for me so still switching, but for those that want to stay with British gas might be worth considering.

I was offered and accepted a 15% discount for 12 months. Was a discount on the unit rate they claim but only just  started so couldn't say any more

I thought offering "special" tariffs to individual customers was not allowed by OFGEM ?
I think some suppliers have got round it in the past by crediting the customer's account with a one off payment.

I've initiated a switch away from British Gas and they contacted me to offer a discount on any of their fixed term tariffs.

The one year fix had a discount of only 6% so did not come close to the price I'm getting from SO Energy.

As I'm a former Robin Hood Energy customer who was transferred to British Gas the overall increase in cost for me was, although not surprising, considerable.

I didn't think they are allowed to offer "special" deals to individual customers under the terms of their supply license ??
