Hi all,
New here so hoping this is the correct category.
Bought an air fryer part vouchers, balance paid on PayPal. Air fryer was faulty, so returned, retailer refunded full amount via PayPal advising could be up to 30 days.

No refund received after 30 days contacted retailer who referred me to PayPal.
Paypal confirmed retailer had not initiated a refund, went back to retailer who advised they would refund me with vouchers as that is how I paid.

Two weeks on I am still waiting for the vouchers and the retailer is not responding to any messages I am sending, I just want my money back but if they won’t communicate with me, I’m not sure how to proceed?
Any advice will be welcome.

Will Paypal buyer protection apply seeing as only part of the purchase price was paid that way?
I know that it used to be the case that when a deposit or partial payment was made, this made the purchase ineligible for buyer protection but I don't know if this still applies.0 -
You’d have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, argue that the fryer isn’t of satisfactory quality- should be free from fault and also last a reasonable amount of time. If you’re within the first 30 days you can exercise your short term right to reject for a full refund as long as you can prove it’s faulty.
So you’re currently waiting on that refund, under this act it should be paid in 14 days and in the same manner you paid.I’d argue this in a formal complaint to the company and hopefully it prompts them to resolve it.0 -
