I agree 100% although I suspect the OP will think you are taking the Mickey.

I can't answer for transferring 1k, not sure I've ever done that. Think maybe Halifax? I can't recall but one bank had a limit and I got around that just doing multiple transfers. But of course that could of flagged up potentially as odd I suppose.

In terms of best app, if you can find out the limits, Starling for me is great, both from a user ability and design at least on ios.

I struggle to see much difference between all of the main high street banking apps alternatively, I've had or have HSBC, Barclaycard, Halifax, Lloyds, Nationwide off the top of my head and find them all similar. I can see my accounts and move money around that's all I need.

Thanks all, I think I'm going to go with Lloyds after going through everything with the respective banks. No card reader - 25k a day limit, biometric login, account alerts etc... (The Natwest one does some of these things - account alerts will tell me when something goes out, but not in, limit is 20k but you need a card reader and have to pay that person first over the web etc...), so Lloyds looks like the least amount of hassle, plus they actually have a branch near me that hasn't been turned into a swanky wine bar (Oh, I wish I could find that advert online now that my local Natwest has actually been turned into a "swanky wine bar")

    Cheers all.
