External Wall Insulation and ventilation? Builders are here now!

Hi, I'm getting External wall insulation on the back of my house, and internal in the front of the house. Its a victorian terraced house in Bristol

I'm starting to worry a bit about ventilation after reading more. And the people doing the job don't seem so concerned. I was just wondering what the standard is for ventilation when insulating as I am? Is an extractor fan in each insulated room enough? Will this just mean losing all the heat I'm trying to retain?

Are there are things to consider, I just want to have a bit of knowledge before speaking to the manager when he comes back later, as the guys doing the work don't speak much English and they are just taking orders anyway

Any advice would be great as I need to work this out today!

You don't need anymore than you should usually have.

Trickle vents on your windows, extractors in any wet rooms - kitchen, bathrooms, utilities.   It's best if the the bathroom extractors are humidity sensing and only turn themselves off once the humidity has dropped.

When they do the render out back, ask them to slap a bit on the front under the bay... You may need to get busy with the hammer & chisel to prep the area.

Ok, they have been trying to work out doing the extractor fans today in teh kitchen and bathroom. I get the feeling this isn't something they are hugely familiar with!
