What makes some composite doors pricier than others

We received a quote for a new front door today. A blue composite 1930s style with stained glass, brass key door pull & letterbox & a top light/fan light in reeded glass. We were quoted £1450 in NW England.
I imagine I have let my imagination run away with me and have chosen an expensive combination.
Can anyone tell me what makes some composite doors more expensive than others please so I can try to decide on a design for less than £1000.
Im finding it hard as no prices are ever listed from what I can see.
thanks

Not really sure what style your '30s jobbie is, but have a look through this and see if there's a style that's close, and get a quote - now't to lose.

Thanks! I made it as similar as possible as original quote and it’s come out as £1500. I must keep selecting the expensive stuff!Jeepers_Creepers said:Not really sure what style your '30s jobbie is, but have a look through this and see if there's a style that's close, and get a quote - now't to lose.2 -
I'm the same. The doors I really WANTED cost £1200-£1500 from every design quote I tried. So I ran a few more boring options and they came out much cheaper. Which, I think, answers the question in your title" What makes some doors pricier than others" !In the end, I figured life was too short and I ordered the door I WANTED from a local company. It took about 3 months to arrive with ridiculous Covid, Brexit and Chinese New Year delays. With three months between paying 20% deposit and paying the final invoice, it suddenly felt a lot cheaper and I am absolutely delighted with it!3

Ah yeah I think you’re right! I’m glad you’re happy with your door and it was worth the wait 🙂Soot2006 said:I'm the same. The doors I really WANTED cost £1200-£1500 from every design quote I tried. There is a YouTube video showing how easy it is to kick through foam filled upvc and other types of door. Worth a watch1

Thank you! That would be great. I am now thinking something along the examples below. I’d like the door to be the same colour as the frame. The green colour I like is listed as olive on one site.greenface2 said:If you want to send me a pic or description of what you want and I can give you a ball park of what I would charge .
