How to convert Irish Paper Share Certificate Post Brexit?

I doubt many people hold shares in certificated form for overseas companies these days.hanfield said:I dont trade very often. I fact, I've held these shares since 2001. I wasn't aware of any deadline and yet I consider myself fairly well read. Another Brexit setback for the consumer.1 -
Helpful, as usual, thanks.0

I'm in the same situationhanfield said:Helpful, as usual, thanks.
Currently it looks like Link Assets might be the best option. Also Davy are a potential option but I'm waiting for them to let me know if I have to fund an account before I send the certificate as their website isnt clear.

I eventually deposited my shares in a share account with First Direct bank.1

I'm in the same position. Have been struggling for weeks, contacting UK brokers and also just started trying Irish brokers like Davy. Had a no from Hargreaves Lansdown, IG, Interactive Investor among others.hanfield said:I eventually deposited my shares in a share account with First Direct bank.
So you managed to get First Direct to accept the Irish paper stock and turn it into electronic format? I'm a First Direct account holder so hoping this could be the answer for me.0 -
Yes I did. I already had a 'dormant' share account with FD and they opened it up again on request. The quarterly charges are fairly stiff but that is the price I had to pay.0

Thanks for getting back to me. First Direct could help unfortunately. The shares I have are Flutter Entertainment PLC and they said they can't dematerialise those. Back to the drawing board.hanfield said:Yes I did. I already had a 'dormant' share account with FD and they opened it up again on request. Having checked my account today I notice that my share account balance has reverted to zero. I wonder if they also cannot dematerialise my Glanbia shares?0

That's what happened with my Hargreaves Lansdown account. The share balance appeared a few days after I sent them in with a note saying they hadn't settled yet. And then the balance reverted to zero and today I received the share certs back in the post saying they could only accept shares that can settle through Crest.0

Did you manage to find a solution? In the same boat here with Flutter Shares certificate that I would like to transfer to my ISA account.
