Unfair student accommodation rental payments due to Covid

Hi bluecarlady, I emailed Trading Standards and they asked me to contact my local Citizens Advice consumer service, which I haven't had a chance to act upon as yet, but I will.  I was holding off because I am assuming the government will do something about this unbelievable bad business practice.

Just reading yours on here again and for what it's worth I dont think Citizens Advice Bureau will be much help as this is an issue that has been thrown up purely due to the Coronavirus Pandemic so is very new.

My daughter is just coming to her last year in Uni and lives in student accommodation and the rent paid includes leccy/gas etc., obviously most of that has not been used for the last year. Had anyone tried to get any of those costs repaid to them?
