On line course

I signed a contract 3 years ago for an online course with a few weeks of college attendance for face to face teaching, training and exams. I never read the small print and the course was sold to me as learn at your pace when you can as much as you can. My mistake here... However I've found out that my course just expired and the company is seeking nearly £500 for an extension. I don't have this amount to pay at once... Last calender year I've been in some sort of limbo with this training, meaning all those class hours have been moved to a few live trainings and been waiting for pandemic restrictions to be lifted in order to attend live practice and exams.
I wasn't invited to attend any exams or live trainings in last 12 months, as they keept saying on live trainings (study throughly and be prepared when your invitation comes to sit your exams).
Personally i was ready for first set of exams since April 2020 and i progressed further along 2020.
Learning materials were only provided up to half of the course so far and i thought the other half will be provided once we get through this set of exams they promised through this pandemic.
It's a level 2 NVQ followed by level 3. I believe i finished all my studies for level 2 at the moment.
I've already paid over £5k through a loan arranged by the same seller.
Where do i stand now? I've paid most of fees already for this course, I'm still paying for some many months but i can't access my learning platform. I feel like they should have offered us default extensions because they weren't able to arrange exams and classroom lessons as agreed. Also I've found rather worryingly feedbacks online relating to this company where people reportedly lost money for various reasons some similar, the course being expired during this past lockdowns.
I'm experiencing very stressful days since I've found out that potentially I've lost all money paif and for the outcome of this course.
Any suggestions are kindly appreciated.
Thx.

You haven't been able to complete the course because it's delivery was affected by the pandemic.
The college says you have to pay extra for it to be extended because you didn't complete it.
The college is clearly in the wrong here because the course would need to be extended regardless.
You also have other concerns that should be put in writing to the college, so that they can address them.0
