Thanks Colsten. In hindsight I shouldn't have assumed that everyone knows all of the lingo.

People sometimes get miffed when they're asked what they perceive to be invasive and unnecessary questions by their bank but the reason behind it isn't simply to sell you stuff (although that is often also likely to be the case). It's to ensure that they know their customer so that they have an understanding of what to expect over your account.

Why not just use a paypal account?  Easy, understood by (virtually) all, and you don't need to give any account details.
Paypal also have personal and business accounts, and they charge for business accounts. I am not totally sure but I think they also charge a fee for sending/receiving money into personal accounts if the payment comes from outside the UK, even on personal accounts.
Yes, paypal charge (and yes they would want a business paypal account to be used)  but they do do exactly what the OP wants, and the OP expects to be charged.
My point was simply that the OP seems to be searching for a facility that is hidden in plain sight - i.e paypal.
One which is used by millions of websites doing exactly what the OP is trying to do - selling a product via a website.
It just seems to me the OP is overthinking this.
Paypal works, has no commitment, is pay as you go, and so can easily be set up and used.
It can be swapped out for something else later, but it's a no-brainer for me when I set up payments on websites.
Which I do, both for myself and for other people who are starting out.

I have Starling personal and business accounts.

I can send a settle up link from my personal account but not the business one.

It is fairly easy though to just share my bank details with one or two clicks.
