Plough money in, live quite frugally, am I wrong?

    Max out your workplace pension contributions.
    Start paying down the mortgages on the BTL's. (the tax changes on financing charges mean that they will now be costing you)
    Do any works around your house (insulation, double/triple glazing, even solar pv)

    That way, you've increased future income & reduced expenses.
  • Agree with the comments about moderation. I did a couple of years of being extremely frugal & building a good start to my investments. Now i have a solid budget where i have DD’s that cover my investments, pension sorted, claiming all the free cash rom work i can etc. i then allocate myself a spending budget which i can use on whatever i want. 
    I actually budget that, itself. Saving some to pay for holidays/frivolity etc & day to day luxuries. If i have any left, i carry it over & still spend it. Or put it towards my holidays
