Interesting I've have a completely contrary experience. Started the switch around end of Feb and got a message saying they needed to do an additional check and they would be in touch, heard nothing since.I contacted them ~1 week ago and was told we will definitely have your application and asking I be patient.Nothing since. No email, no updates no confirmation of in progress etc0

My daughter has just switched, there was a little hold up as they had a bit of a backlog and her switch was delayed by over a week, but 3 days after the switch went though she received the £100 switching bonus which was a lot faster than what she expected.0

You were very lucky. I applied on March 4th and as of today, April 12th, I am still waiting for application forms. They did send me a set out on 24th March which took a week to arrive as they had used a made up Post Code on my address rather than the correct one I supplied. It's now ten days since they promised to 'send out today' revised forms with the correct postcode. Still waiting and minded to cancel the whole process and go with a bank that knows what it is doing.

Wondering if anyone can advise on the £100 switch bonus as my mum & I both opened sole accounts then a joint account & it seems that we have received one £100 bonus on the joint account. I had hoped that opening the sole accounts first would mean £100 each. Has anyone gone through the same & can comment on what bonus is received?0

I switched a donor account to them about 2 year back for the £125 bribe & 5% reg saver. I wouldn't have my main banking with them as they're OTT & make things difficult. Once my current reg saver matures (a week after it actually really does cos they're holding my money interest free) I'm ditching them

The bonus is for switching. Did you switch two sole accounts from elsewhere to your sole First Direct accounts? If you did, then you should have each got a bonus, but if you switched a joint account into your First Direct joint account, then you only get one bonus.shaz4473 said:it seems that we have received one £100 bonus on the joint account. Are people who have ever had an account with first direct ineligable for the bonus or just people who have had an account from a certain date?
Thank you.0 -
https://www1.firstdirect.com/content/fsdt/en_gb/banking/switching-bank-accounts/ has no date qualification against the FD element, unlike the HSBC section:Yellowvest23 said:Are people who have ever had an account with first direct ineligable for the bonus or just people who have had an account from a certain date?
Thank you.Sorry, we can only offer this to people who haven’t previously held an account with us, and/or has not opened a HSBC current account on or after 1 January 2018. You may hold a HSBC current account and still qualify for the offer, as long as the current account was opened before 1 January 2018.

How far back do their records go, though?eskbanker said:

I was last a customer of FD in the mid 2000s. Wondering if they'd twig.
Any thoughts, anyone?0 -
