But it has only cost to date circa £13 Billion which has been added to every ones power bills.
But at least we save at the moment an average of the fantastic sum of approx £11 per year?Whoops, you're not supposed to let the cat out of the bag !
Stand by for a load of abuse from the industry and government shills...Gerry, they can do this already, every house in the UK is already assigned to a group that can be cut-off by the DNO from a central point.Smart meters give them considerably more granularity in the ability to respond to an emergency situation but make no mistake, with or without a smart meter if they need to cut the power you are going to be cut-off.

But those with smart meters are likely to suffer first ! ToU surcharges and Load Limiting will be used before Load Shedding cuts off the refuseniks.Area wide blackouts for conventional meters will be a last resort.0

Only + for my smart meter which itermittantly seems to send to electricity/gas supplier is that firing up the In House Display to read the meters is a lot easier than reading the actual meters. Wondershow much it cost to fit meters?0

I can't see Mr Blue at number 16 being cut off because he has a smart meter and his neighbour Mrs Green at number 18 being left on supply because she doesn't have one!0

Plenty of people out there totally reliant on power for medical reasons. And no, I don’t know what happens now in the case of a power cut! Battery backup, but for how long?0 -

Planned work is one thing but the problem arises with failures either local or national.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
