my husband worried he would leave it to late was pressured into booking a weeks holiday on 25th june to the hotel vistanova in palmanova, majorca. this was last night, we told the operator of online firm i was disabled and needed disabled access. he also knew we were in early 40s. i have just looked on holidays uncovered for some info on place as all listings on net are a bit vague. well these people pulled no punches. apparently hotel is sat on the border and has magaluf across the road. the whole place in and out of hotel seems to be run alive of teenagers and noise levels from hotel disco has reached 70 decibels. this is not the best place to be for woman in wheelchair. nightlife opposite more suited 18-30s and not a couple one of which is in wheelchair celebrating their anniversary. every report mentions theft from hotel rooms jewllery, money etc. food reports vary, noise levels, tiny rooms. what if anything can i do. i am being called today by the rep for confirmation of flights etc. what can i say to him!!! i will of course reel of the list of worries that i have. but can i do anything else and should i believe all i read? i really am in two minds whether or not to just cancel the whole thing. even the more positive reviews backed up the negative elements but said did not bother them as they were also throwing furniture in the pool or being sick in corridors. please get back to me as soon as possible as i have so little time holidayemie=

Sorry to read your tale. Now I'm no expert but you must go back to the online sales company and tell them of your worries! Tell them that the holiday you have been sold is not suitable as your requirements were made known during your conversation with them and from your research it looks unsuitable.
Someone better qualified than me will give you legal advise but don't sit back and do nothing!
Best of luck.0 -
I agree with Norman, I would stress that you have done some online research and it appears that this hotel is most definately unsuitable given your difficulties which you made clear during booking.
Point out that you felt pressured into making the booking and you want them to change the hotel for somewhere more suitable.
Try to keep a note of who you speak to and exactly what is said, in case you need to take this further.Herman - MP for all!

thanks for your replies. i did as suggested and called the company. once i had explained my concerns the rep was fine and reeled off a list of other hotels on the other side of the island alot quieter. he was fine about it and said i had up to the day before to change my mind so i felt alot better. in the end we found a hotel that is run but a chain that we use alot in london and the place looks lovely. costs an extra £40 so all in all costs are now £554 for 1 week half board for 2. anyone interested in looking at where i have picked to give their opinion, if you put Sol Mastines/Chihuahuas in search you will see. let me know what you think??0

It Looks really nice, glad that you were able to change hotels, else it could of been a nightmare holiday, have fun.0

My Mum and Dad did the same as you and looked at Holidays Uncovered AFTER they'd booked a holiday in Italy then worried themselves silly for ages before they left. It didn't turn out as bad as they'd feared but was on a pretty noisy road but they'd taken ear plugs. I've left reports myself on that web site of a Greek holiday and would always recommend it as an impartial advice place. I hope you have a really lovely time.0

I know someone who stayed there and had a wonderful time. We stayed in the same resort and it's not 18-30 at all just a few bars although the beach is very difficult to get to so if either have walking difficulties I would stay by the poolIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0

haven't been for years admittedly but I stayed in those hotels with my parents about 3 or 4 times when I was younger. It used to be at the 'far' end of the resort but it just meant it was a bit quieter but was only a 10 minute stroll into the main centre, either via the streets past a few shops and bars or there used to be a clifftop pathway that went all the way along the coast towards the centre. Haven't been there for 10 years or so admittedly but we used to enjoy the resort hence we went back!0
