Suspected of money laundering?
Comments
-
A couple of years ago I had a lot of change in my pocket - around £5 or £10 don't recall exact amount. Whilst in Ladbrokes I put £5/£10 of the change in one of their betting machines, printed a ticket and took it to the desk and received £5 or £10 note. The assistant said they would do it this time but told me not to do it again as it was money laundering.

It's neither sad nor discriminatory.6022tivo said:I went to apply, but then saw this....
Bit sad and discriminatory, I have no intention of being a Unite Union member to try and help a credit union.
It's a Credit Union.
All Credit Unions have membership limited to certain jobs, regions etc.
Joining Unite wouldn't be 'helping a Credit Union' - it would be helping Unite.
And helping you of course as you could use the Credit Union (which is nothing to do with Unite, they're just one of many organisations it allows memberships from) and thus enable you to a return on your savings, which is, I assume, what you want. But probably not worth joining Unite for, regardless of whether you like or support Unite.0 -
Interesting. That's not the way I read 6022tivo's post. Thought it was that they would be helping the CU by depositing money with them but they wouldn't join Unite in order to be able to do so.Zanderman said:
