Multiple soft searches on my credit file

I've just checked credit file with Clearscore and in the last 2 days there has been 17 soft searches on my file from various loan companies. Some say quotation search and some say affordability.
I haven't applied for any credit. Just looking for life insurance, but none of these companies are life insurance companies. Should i be concerned?

Yes and no, soft searches can occur if you have applied for quotes for life insurance as they can do identity checks and these can appear as soft searches. Loads of these can impact credit scoring but not to the degree declines or hard searches would.
What are the names of the companies doing the soft searches??0 -
Thanks for responding so quickly.
Morses Club limited
Oplo group
Madison CF
Shawbrook bank
Bamboo Ltd
That's just a few. Identity checks i could understand but affordability? And these are loan companies.0 -
I don't recognise those companies.
I do know that if you look for insurance on comparison websites that can show multiple soft searches afterwards. Maybe something similar with life insurance.0 -
Just to clarify this. Soft searches do not impact your credit history or ability to get credit. They are only seen by you, no other lenders doing checks will see them.Scott_Weiland79 said:Yes and no, soft searches can occur if you have applied for quotes for life insurance as they can do identity checks and these can appear as soft searches. Thanks for that I'll keep an eye on it. Identify theft is always as the front of my mindGrumpy_chap said:I don't recognise those companies.

Hi yes I'm aware of that. But still have no idea why these companies are searching me when I've not made any application for credit or loansDellgrad12 said:

Did you recently browse the 'Offers' section in Clearscore? That will have lead to soft searches.
