Refund by cheque. Can I demand to be refunded by card?

Hi, after a long year dealing with Wren Kitchens, we finally agreed to settle on some refund (for all the extra cost is costed us to complete the kitchen and inconvenience etc).
They want to send a cheque, when in fact I’m paying for the kitchen tsk v my bank account through Barclay Finance I’ve set up with them when purchasing the kitchen.
I don’t want to Siena extra time travelling to the bank and then wait for the money to clear. I don’t think it’s fair. What are my rights??

Does your bank have an app with a cheque deposit feature where you can photograph the cheque rather than going to the bank?

Why can't you just post the cheque to your bank?1

It takes about a day for a cheque to clear, it will certainly be quicker than cancelling the cheque and getting them to do a transfer to your bank instead.1

Lloyds give same day value on cheques deposited, and also offer "Remote Deposit Capture" (i.e. taking a photo of the cheque to deposit it). A lot of banks do...1

You do not have a right to demand the refund amount by a specific method so long as that method is deemed reasonable for the settling of a debt. Whilst cheques are archaic and it will be much more convenient when they are finally phased out they are still deemed a reasonable way to settle a debt, so you do not have any "right" to demand refund via bank transfer.kleshnia said:Hi, after a long year dealing with Wren Kitchens, we finally agreed to settle on some refund (for all the extra cost is costed us to complete the kitchen and inconvenience etc). They want to send a cheque, when in fact I’m paying for the kitchen tsk v my bank account through Barclay Finance I’ve set up with them when purchasing the kitchen.

If the payment was a direct refund of the original payment for things such as goods not delivered or delivered faulty then yes, you can insist on the refund being made in the same manner as the original payment.
As the payment you are getting is a partial refund and also compensation then Wren are free to decide how to make this payment.1 -
You can also deposit cheques at post offices1
