Changing from Bulb prepay to new supplier
Hi, quick question
I live in a 1 bed flat, elec only. Wet elec CH and oldish immersion tank.
With Bulb on Pre Payment meter (my credit history is fine, I just never changed the meter, I accept that was a mistake, I just didn’t see myself living here long – thanks Covid).
Bulb are putting their prices up, so the question is.
I spent about £1000 last year (didn’t bother with readings as I wasn’t intending on staying longer than 6 months)
If I have to stay here another 12 months should I,
A - Change supplier then meter
B - Change Meter then supplier
C - better option?
Any tips other than Citizens advice website on suppliers? NG34 area
Thanks for any help.

sasme sinario , been with ebigo (no standing charge ) and bulb for good few yrs on PAYG , just had email from bulb
edf are going to charge me 2.646 36.19 standing charge gas and 16,37 27.86 standing charge for electric
as a bonus , they will follow thru by removing the PAYG and install direct debit meters as soon as I am ready (still have £130 + of WHD on elec meter)
loyalty stops when it costs more
It was suggested to me that EDF do not do credit checks and it might be easer to move over to them , then if need be move elsewhere

Unfortunately, wet electric CH on a prepayment tariff is just about the most expensive heating you could possibly have. Only Economy 7 could make it worse.Sadly, the far, far better option (C) to is move to a property with gas central heating, although i realise that's not what you want to hear !Also try 'Which? Switch' which is a white label of Energylinx. It doesn't hide tariffs that don't pay commission and it may include tariffs exclusive to Energylinx.0

Thanks for the replies, I guess now the weather is better I might just wait a few months and move when I can afford too.
