advice on setting up e-commerce website selling children clothes

Options
Hi All,
I would like to open an e-commerce website selling children clothes online.  I would like advice on setting up my e-commerce website/ business?  Are there any good recommendations? Did you use a company to set up your online website or created it yourself? I am very new to business side as never opened or owned one before.  Where shall I start as I am very confused.
Any help/advice is much appreciated.
Thanks

Crowded market , website won't get picked up on Google without expensive advertising.

Unless you already have a huge following on twitter, a blog or tik tok

Look at ecwid , free online shop
You can scale it up if it works out and pay for better facilities and more listings

Hi if your are looking for a website  with e-commerce I would use Wordpress and woo commerce it’s the most straight forward and the fee structure is much better than the likes of wix etc. I have worked with a company for a few years that do this and happy to send on the details if your looking to get someone else to do it for you. Best of luck

In addition to other comments I imagine the level of returns with clothing is going to be high.  As a distance-selling business  customers have a right to return for any reason. This needs to be factored in to your business plan.

Children Clothes is an overly saturated market unless you have a manufacturing connection with a relatively known brand. We run an online clothing store as well and we built our e-commerce website with Shopify. It's relatively easy and straightforward, we only ever really needed the help of a web developer when we wanted to add some functionality to our site, but overall, it was manageable.
This doesn't apply to you though, the first thing you need is to choose a domain hosting. Actually, scratch that, since you seem like a complete beginner, I think your best option right now is to talk with an expert to guide you through this.
An overview of how we built our e-commerce website: we chose a niche (teen clothing), we settled for a domain hosting, and we hired a team of web developers that would build the backbone and functionality of our site. We had a graphic designer onboard our team that would then handle the design portion of the site.
After the site was built, the next portion was the tricky part: the marketing campaign, the operational structure, and the sales funnel process. We had to optimize our entire set up but to start small, you can begin with implementing certain organizational tools lika Asana, Trello, and etc to kick things off. Our initial set up looked something like Asana+Gmail+Slack+Google Sheets. But now, we're using a plethora of tools and we found a way to automate all these to make our lives easier.
It's going to take a lot of trial and error, but the best way you can minimize suffering a huge profit loss is taking more time to plan things out. But, don't drag it for too long or you might just never start. Hope this helps!
