Cost of moving

Hello everyone,
I am planning to get a flat, I am a first time buyer and I was wondering how much the solicitor fees and mortgage broker are? Iv just got a price breakdown and I don’t know if it’s a fair price or they’re ripping me off .
Thank you

    Get multiple quotes?
    Our mortgage broker is £400
solicitors is ~1.5k  -buying freehold house,£X amount. Many factors can influence the quote. I’m sure a flat includes extra work with leases etc?
(however there’s additional costs not included, eg the lender using a portal, if we exchange and complete on same day/further than two weeks, etc). There were extra fees on there for leases etc but we are buying a freehold house so I didn’t pay attention.

We aimed for four quotes, only two responded. Both were in a similar price. So we then based the decision on communication.

Last night I stumped up £1,900 all in.

  • Thanks everyone for the answers
    so the total is £2.379
Seems a bit pricey to be honest

  • Our solicitor cost didn’t include a will or the broker fee ~744. Removing that it’s down to ~1635. Which is 135 more than ours.

Just go elsewhere. Don't go with EA's associated/recommend solicitor. You don't have to use a broker with a fee, many will claim payment from the lender.
