EasyJet won’t change voucher to refund

Newbie here..our flights were cancelled by EasyJet last year.
We kindly opted for a voucher because we understood W’s could get a refund instead if we wanted. Now we have tried to get a refund but they have refused. They say we have to book or loose our money. I’ve read Martin’s guide and it says we can have a refund ( it’s less than a year since flights cancelled but we are running out of time) any suggestions?

As above, I think you've posted in the wrong forum.
When an airline cancel a flight you are entitled to a refund. However, if you've accepted a voucher instead then you've accepted a voucher and I don't think there's a way to force them to exchange that for cash.2 -
Not sure what Martin’s guide says because I’ve not read it but my understanding is that once you’ve accepted a voucher you can’t then ask for a refund instead. They are however extending the timescales in which you need to book, so it no longer needs to be used within a year.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1
