High street banks

All these offers from banks to switch, but they are not always a guarantee to good service!!
I am now considering change, and many moons ago have had bad service. Forget the best deal, it should be the best performing high street bank. (My wife is not IT savvy), and we are trying to avoid the "under a bus" situation. Also she does not show up on experian, cos i've spoiled her.
Any recommended banks please??

https://www.ipsos.com/ipsos-mori/en-uk/personal-banking-service-quality-great-britain-february-2021 offers a reasonably scientific survey of (perceptions of) the main players' customer service performance but threads like this typically end up being dominated by contradictory subjective views ("I think Bank A are fab", "well I think they're rubbish", etc) so don't expect consensus....

I've just switched to Bank of Scotland. Very impressed with the service so far. App seems to work well and supports fingerprint recognition. Pays interest on up to £5k at a decent rate. Oh and as a history buff their debit card design is rather nice

Moved from Tesco that I'd been with for quite a few years and been happy with but they're not opening new accounts so don't seem so bothered by service. Their text alert system stopped working last year and they don't appear to have any interest in sorting it. M&S closing down their current accounts so also moved that to BOS along with TSB account no longer needed.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.2 -
Just to be clear "Bank of Scotland" not "Royal Bank of Scotland", thats much appreciatedjimjames said:I've just switched to Bank of Scotland. Very impressed with the service so far. I think the best recommendation I've seen is to make sure you have accounts at more than one bank (or banking group) - just in case.spurdog1 said:Any recommended banks please??3
