You could be the lucky winner of this beautiful 1970 VW Karmann Ghia 1600 Coupe Manual. Highly original California Karmann presented in Pampas yellow with tan interior.

This prize includes a weekend VIP pass for your lovely cute Karmann Ghia and everyone in it to a CarFest of your choice (CarFest North at the end of July, CarFest Retro at the middle of August or CarFest South on the August Bank holiday weekend).

Text to Win Terms and Conditions

1. The prize draw will be open at 17th March 2021 at 10:00 and close at 19th March 2021 at 22:00.

2. Entry to the prize draw is only by texting the keyword CAR to short code 81155. Text messages will cost your standard network message charge (based on your service provider rates – please check with your provider). You will then receive a free bounce-back message from 62345 informing you that a voluntary donation of £10 to Comic Relief will be taken 60 minutes after the entry text was received, unless you reply to 62345 with the word CANCEL before 60 minutes has passed. If you don’t respond CANCEL to 62345 within those 60 minutes, you will then receive a text from 70210 confirming your donation and asking you if you’d like to make a Gift Aid declaration.

3. For the avoidance of doubt, opting out of the voluntary donation will not affect your entry into the prize draw.

4. The prize draw is open to all residents of the UK, aged 18 or over, except staff members of Comic Relief (the organisation behind Red Nose Day), of BBC Group, of any of the prize providers, and their close relatives, or anyone connected with the prize draw. Proof of age, identity and eligibility may be requested.

5. Please ensure you spell the keyword correctly and send your text message to the correct short code, however, if we, acting reasonably believe you are trying to enter, we will still accept the entry even if you entered the keyword incorrectly. Alternatively, we may instead send you a message to let you know that your entry has failed. The message we send to you in this instance is not a confirmation message so, whilst you will be charged your standard network message charge, you will not be entered into the competition and will not be donating to Comic Relief. If your text message is received outside the times and dates specified for the prize draw, you will not receive a bounce-back message but may still be charged your standard network message charge. You will not be donating to Comic Relief nor will you have entered the prize draw. You will not have been added to any marketing databases if we send you a follow up text unless you have expressly requested to be.

6. You may enter the prize draw a maximum of four times a day (midnight to midnight UK time). You will receive a free bounce-back message regarding the donation each time, and if you wish to opt out of the donation you need to respond to each such message received from 62345 by texting the word CANCEL to 62345. If you try to enter into the prize draw more than four times a day, you will still be charged your standard network rate but will not be charged any donation to Comic Relief. Also note that pre-paid customers who are trying to donate £20 or £30 but have insufficient credit, may only be charged £10 or £20 (as applicable).

7. There is only ONE prize available to be won:
An original 1970 VW Karmann Ghia 1600 Coupe in factory Pampas Yellow with Gloss Black roof, Tan vinyl seats, black carpeting and original radio (complete with a factory spare wheel and tools). The engine was professionally fully rebuilt in 2013 (and has driven only 1,000 miles since).Since the car is registered as a Historic Vehicle, it is exempt from vehicle tax.

- Insurance: Footman James will cover insurance costs up to £500. Any premiums above this amount requires the balance to be paid by the winner. The insurance cover available to the winner is subject to Footman James’ policy underwriting guidelines.
-Warranty: Autoguard Warranties will provide the winner with their premium warranty which includes roadside recovery and assistance, and a single claim maximum limit of £1,000 for 24 months.
- A weekend VIP pass for you, your classic Karmann and three guests (the winner can choose either 4 adult tickets for people aged 17+, OR 2 adult tickets for people aged 17+ and two child tickets for children aged 6-16) to a CarFest of your choice this summer. This includes VIP Glamping and VIP Access almost everywhere. For the avoidance of doubt, food is not included in the prize.

8. The winner will be selected using an independent randomised draw system on 19th March 2021 and contact to notify them of their win will be attempted that day between 23:00 and 23:30 during the Great Comic Relief Prizeathon . If the winner does not answer within 48 hours after Comic Relief’s reasonable attempts to contact them (meaning 4 calls per day at various times of the day) Comic Relief will move on to contact the next randomly selected winner.

9. For the avoidance of doubt, unless specified elsewhere in these terms and conditions or otherwise agreed in writing, the winner is responsible for all arrangements and costs required to access the prize including but not limited to, travel and accommodation costs, and no other costs or expenses will be covered by Comic Relief, the BBC, or any of the prize providers.

10. Any accessibility or dietary requirements for the winner or their guests need to be disclosed to Comic Relief within two weeks from notification of the win. The winner and their guest may need to adhere to Health & Safety requirements imposed by Comic Relief or any venue associated with the prize.

11. Comic Relief and/or the BBC’s announcement as to who the winner is, is final. No correspondence relating to the prize draw will be entered into. The prizes are as stated. There is no cash alternative. If a winner wishes to give the prize to another person as a gift, express prior consent must be obtained from Comic Relief.

12. The winner and their guests agree to take part in any reasonable post-prize draw publicity with Comic Relief if required.

13. Comic Relief must publish that a valid award took place. To comply with this requirement, Comic Relief will publish the surname and county of the winner and, if applicable, their winning entry on the Comic Relief website on 26th March 2021.The BBC will also publish information on the winner on its website on 26th March 2021 in order to comply with its legal and regulatory obligations.
If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact Comic Relief by emailing us. For the avoidance of doubt, Comic Relief must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on their request.

14. The prize is subject to change. Descriptions of the prize are provided without a warranty of any kind. In no event shall Comic Relief, the BBC or any prize provider be liable for any claim demand or damages caused to an entrant by reason of a description of the prize being inaccurate, incomplete, or for the prize being otherwise in any way different to the entrant’s expectations. Comic Relief reserves the right to disqualify any entries that breach these rules or are in any way fraudulent. Comic Relief reserves the right to cancel the prize draw at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise outside its control.
The car will not be delivered to the winner and they are responsible for collecting it themselves; if the winner is unable to collect the car, they will need to arrange for it to be collected on their behalf and at their own cost. It is the winner’s responsibility to ensure that they, and (where applicable and permitted) anyone collecting the car either with them or on their behalf comply with legal requirements relating to the COVID-19 pandemic when collecting the car.

15. Comic Relief, the BBC and their sub-contractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies (including Fonix) cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with any telephone network or line, system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any text not being properly received.

16. Red Nose Day is an initiative of Comic Relief, which is the operating name of Charity Projects, a registered charity, number 326568 (England and Wales) SC039730 (Scotland).
