Hello All
Does anyone know how payments I make to my credit card which has multiple 0% balance transfers on ending at different times will work?
So I have a balance transfer 0% rate which will end in 3 months time and I have a small amount left on that specific balance transfer. i will be able to pay it before the 3 months ends. However I also have other balance transfers at 0% that have a much longer left time to go and now I am wondering if the payments I will make will be distributed out between all the balance transfers and therefore I will never in fact have paid off the smaller amount by the date the 0 percent offer expiries?
Would I then be charges interest on just the outstanding balance of that specific balance transfer amount?
Thank you in advance
Clara

It depends on the T&C's of the card in question, there isn't one specific answer. Who is the card issuer?1

Simplest way is to look at your last couple of statements and see which balance(s) are going down. Otherwise ask your lender - you haven't said who it is so any advice is generic - they normally do it to ensure any paying interest would be cleared first but some e.g. MNBA do it in order of when each BT started.
Certainly mine with Barclaycard always goes to the transfer that ends soonest, then payments start on the next one to end, as soon as the first is paid off.

The credit card is with Tesco Bank.

This is the allocation of payments according to my Tesco statement:I think the part in bold would apply to your situation.
If your account is in arrears, we’ll clear these first (starting with the oldest) before paying off the amount due from your most recent statement. When you pay us, we use the money to pay off the items with the highest interest rates first. If there is more than one item at the same rate we pay off the item at the rate that ends first. For further details please refer to section 6. Paying off your balance, of the General Conditions.
