NHS staff parking fine, in staff car park. What can I do?

Hi All
I'd appreciate a little help. I have a parking fine from APCOA for parking, as a staff member, in the staff car park of the NHS hospital where I work. This car park is way too small for the number of staff looking for spaces. There are always cars parked in areas which are safe, do not cause obstruction, but do not have white lines around them.
One day I parked in one of these areas. If not, I wouldn't have been able to park and there were patients waiting for me.
So I appealed, sent photos of where I parked showing no obstruction. But they rejected my appeal.
I did give my name and address on the appeal details ( I hadn't read this site at the time).
Is there anything I can do? I think it's really unjustified

Thanks in advance.

Can you union/federation help you?  Complain bitterly to the chief executive of the hospital that whilst you are a) trying to find somewhere to park in their pitiable excuse for a car park and b) trying to sort out this speculative invoice, you are not dealing with patients.

Can we see exactly what you wrote in your appeal to ACPOA please?

    Date of Parking event?
Ticket stuck to windscreen or first you heard of it was a letter through the post?
Date of Issue of the letter?

Perhaps you should also read the NHS patient, visitor and staff car parking principles where it says:
    Contracted-out car parking
NHS organisations are responsible for the actions of private contractors who run car parks on their behalf.
Keep that in mind when complaining to the Trust.

Next time, appeal as keeper and use the template for appeal in the first post of the NEWBIES thread.

As long as you don't blab about driving/parking (no ''I did this./that because...'') you CANNOT LOSE when appealing as keeper to the likes of APCOA, who don't use 'keeper liability'.

For this one, try to get the NHS Facilities Manager to cancel it, and if not, try POPLA, and if you lose, ignore APCOA anyway.

APCOA don't sue anyone but if they try, it's defendable.  The only action to take would be to update them for the next 6 years every time you move address, to make sure you don't miss any letters if they break the habit of a lifetime and start a punt in the small claims track.  So what really...APCOA are nothing to worry about.

You are lucky it is them and now you and your colleagues know how to win every appeal!

SPREAD THE WORD THAT THEY CAN'T HOLD A KEEPER LIABLE, THEREFORE THE KEEPER APPEALS AND THE KEEPER WINS AS LONG AS NO-ONE BLABS ABOUT BEING THE DRIVER OR THE STORY OF WHAT HAPPENED.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Please also complain to your MP, the Secretary of State for Health, and Boris. The latter said some time ago he was going to put an end to this sort of thing.
