Not exactly back from my break, but dipping in and out of the forum.
Have been waiting for months for BG to fit smart meters. Engineers finally arrived today, took one look and said they don't do smart E7 meters, so that's the end of that. But BG actually supply me on an E7 tariff - so they knew all along it wasn't going to work!
Having read this thread I've decided it was a close call, and won't be trying again even with suppliers who can do it, as it means I can't move back to an E7 contract with BG in future, even if they are offering the cheapest E7 tariff. Completely crazy, limits competition and undermines the whole move to smart meters.
