How to cover drain

I have these outdoor drains which splash water onto the brick walls and needs changing.
What would be recommended? Thank you.

    Either:
    Leave them like that.
Get a proper plastic surround cover.
Or make it a permanant connection.

Issue with teh last one is if you want to get rid of some water it's a pain if there are no such drains left. I either have to venture out onto the road or just empty on the garden and let it go away naturally. But that's my own fault for wanting an extra toilet as you could hardly leave that one open ;-)

I'm quite liking the FloPlast D94 Debris Gully (plugged them a day or two ago). Fitted one to a downpipe last year which in place of a bottle gully. It has stopped no end of crud ending up in the soakaway. Going to do the other downpipes later this year.
Downside is it involves a bit of digging, and for the OP, some concrete to break up and reinstate, and possibly a P trap installed underground. The alternative is to get a square gully lid and a couple of 75mm pipe fittings to extend the downpipe through the lid.

Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

How about something like this - https://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-down-pipe-socket-68mm-black/17914

    You could -
Before fitting the leaf guard, get your arm (with glove) down the drain and remove all debris from the U bend. This could be a bi-annual task, as anything that comes down the drain pipe will be at the bottom.
