TUI Packaged Holiday - One jab or 2?

Last Summer we booked a packaged holiday to Greece for this August for my wife, myself and our 19 year old daughter. Whilst both my wife and I would (or should pending no further supply delays) have had both of our vaccine doses by then, how do we stand in respect of being able to go away, if our daughter has had only her first jab by the time we leave? If we are not abe to travel as a party of 3, are we entitled to a refund?

You should be able to travel by producing a recent test result, although nobody knows for certain yet.  https://www.tui.co.uk/destinations/info/entry-requirements

  • Nobody knows for sure what requirements will be but in answer to your question,  who did you book with and under what terms?

it is unlikely you would be eligible for a refund if the holiday goes ahead unless specifically in the t’s and c’s.  It could be an insurance claim - if you are covered for such eventualities. Check your insurance policy now.
  • You won't be entitled to a refund even for your daughter's part of the trip, but the good news is pretty much every country that requires vaccination proof will also accept a test for now.
Once jabs are universally available for anyone who wants one, expect this to change to a 'no jab, no entry' stance but that's a way off yet.

    Some reading -

They seem to be working to finding a solution. The Greek tourism minister was on ITV's Good Morning Britain talking about it this morning.
As you are not travelling until August I would personally not be too concerned at the moment and revisit situation in June.  TUI are allowing amendments to holidays up to 28 days prior anyway.

It’s not looking good at the moment as a lot of noise regarding no international hols this year. We are booked for Greece in May and am looking to delay until 2022 and write this year off. Even if destinations allow entry with or without vaccination I don’t believe boris or in my case drakeford would make it plain sailing. This morning sky news led with pressure on government to allow hols, yet yesterday they led with Greek travel corridor last summer surmounted to thousands of cases and x amount of deaths.
  • I think most countries will likely accept a negative covid test or one vaccine- but time will tell. It's too hard to know right now
