Laptop 6 months out of warranty.

Hi all.
So last week, my hp pavillion laptop died - blue screen issues etc. Took it to a local repair shop and they said they couldn't do anything to fix it.
Contacted HP and they want £328 to fix it. I paid £600 pound for it a year and a half ago and it is 6 months out of warranty. Surely a laptop with such a good spec should last longer than a year and a half. I was wondering if I have a case if I argued that the product didn't last as reasonably as expected under the consumer rights act?
To top it off, If I pay the £328 repair, there's only a 3 month warranty for those repairs. Its absolutely disgusting to offer a lousy warranty with such an expensive repair. I'm so angry.

Well, it's them you have your statutory rights against. Good luck, as you'll see from this forum they're terrible to deal with.Welshcakes35 said:No, currys Pc world0 -

If they deems it's not inherent, you wont get the £80 back and it's then upto you whether you take thematter any further.

What did the local shop say was the problem ??Hope they did not dismantle the item .1

I put in a complaint because I wasn't happy with the fact that'd I'd have to pay that £80 upfront - and then not know how much the actual repair is going to cost. I'm not happy with parting with any of my money under the grounds that my laptop hasn't lasted for a reasonable amount of time. They didn't say I'd get that £80 pound back regardless if its fixable or not, which is why I think its unfair.powerful_Rogue said:Welshcakes35 said:Thank you very much guys! They couldn't find any physical fault with it, nor any issues with the memory/hard drive. They don't know what's wrong with it. They only took the back plate off to see if there were any loose connectionsJJ_Egan said:What did the local shop say was the problem ??Hope they did not dismantle the item .0 -
You need to complain to the government. They were the ones that wrote the legislation to say that the onus is on you to prove a fault is inherent after 6 months.Welshcakes35 said:
