What is your complaint here, and what “redress” are you due? If you saw the lower price when you checked, why did you not take it out?1

Whether we think it is fair or unreasonable is immaterial. Neither the ombudsman nor AXA have upheld your complaint. You have accepted a lower quote from another source so appear to have suffered no financial loss unless you were not refunded the £220 paid to AXA.Woollywhippet said:I did not take the new quote online because another broker was £230. My complaint is that they tried to get another £298 on top of the £220 already paid, do you think that was reasonable of them or fair ?
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
Your first 2 posts seem to suggest you thought AXA was unfair and unreasonable. But now you are suggesting the ombudsman was not fair. I will repeat what we think is immaterial because it won't change anything.Woollywhippet said:
What we think and feel is material and is important. I am satisfied with with the outcome. I got a full refund of my cancellation charge and the ombudsman would of requested the double charge be refunded if I had paid. The question of morality is outside his powers, but he has which was the basis of my complaint but understood my frustration, so I can understand why it was not upheld. My issue with the ombudsman was with the content of his publication, that it did not list all the facts for people to see, and that it was not impartial.lincroft1710 said:Whether we think it is fair or unreasonable is immaterial. So you got a result from going to the ombudsman although you said they did not uphold your complaint and you were not happy about their written decision and you were unhappy with AXA's behaviour. I can't see you can get anything from AXA and have you complained to the ombudsman about their written decision?Woollywhippet said:
Yes A feel Axa were unfair.....and what I said was..... I was not happy with the content of the final decision publication not the decision itself from the ombudsman. It only listed my refund amount following cancellation, it did not list original purchase cost £220 or the additional premium requested £298 or the new quote after cancellation with the correct purchase date £267. It’s abiut presenting all the facts for people to see and understand.....lincroft1710 said:

I will repeat..... what I think and feel did change things because I got a result by not being defeatist. My post is there to help people, that you should challenge things when your instinIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
