Suggestions for ereader

I'm planning to get an ereader. What are your suggestions for a make and model?What features should I look for? Which features are the most useful, and which ones do you have that you never use? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

My Nook still works admitedly a bit battered, battery still holds enough charge for a days reading

Went to a car boot sale a couple of weeks ago and just as it was ending came across someone selling a Amazon Fire 7 for £3 (three), complete with box and all accesories
Got it home charged it up and I don't think it had ever been turned on, converted a couple of epub books using Calibre, and was pleasantly suprised
Think it's time to retire the Nook but it will be like losing an old friend :-)
