Apologies for late response from me, haven't been online. Thanks for all the comments here and also to Jaybeetoo for explaining the term in-specie. I am transferring from Fidelity International to AJ Bell. I appreciate you advising that the shares are not out of the market, it's just that I can't sell them. Not knowing how it worked I wondered what was happening as app 75% of the shares had values confirmed back at the beginning of February and I thought that they would sit at that value. I realise from reading the other posts that the time delay is not unusual and I just need to keep an eye on it. Perhaps not a good time to be doing a transfer with the markets the drop I have seen in my other shares recently but that's the risk we take!0

Cash transfer would be far more expedient.shaz4473 said:Perhaps not a good time to be doing a transfer with the markets the drop I have seen in my other shares recently but that's the risk we take!0 -
There are Pros and Cons to each.Thrugelmir said:

Going to cash risks being out of the market - I wouldn't have wanted that when the vaccines were announced around November last year.
Personally I have always gone with in-specie transfers but I am mainly in UT / IT and lower risk blue chips - and tend to hold for the extremely long term so the inability to trade for a period of time doesnt overly bother me.0
