Un-adopted footpath /pavement and Homebuyers Survey questions from a seller

Why? If it's adopted highway, everybody can use it. Who (if anybody) owns the land beneath the adopted highway is irrelevant. There isn't a problem.3or4magpies said:I've gone back to them to check what rights of access homeowners have over the adopted footpaths/ways since the footpath appears to be registered (land registry) to the original development company and from your kind responses, this appears to be the key point2 -
Oh really? That's fab, I hadn't realised, thanks.davidmcn said:

I've sent it on to my solicitor and asked if this is enough evidence (alongside the council's email) for our buyers solicitor. Fingers crossed we might be able to talk dates to exchange then, as this was the last enquiry. Still no word re the survey either (I suppose no news is good news, but it makes me nervous).0 -
So, both footpaths in the front have been adopted.
I assume there's no query over the rear access one.1 -
The rear is un-adopted, but apparently that's normal practice (from earlier responses in this thread). They haven't asked about that though (I though they had, but was incorrect), yet....edgex said:So, both footpaths in the front have been adopted.

Quick update for those following this thread. Solicitors all happy with Council's response and it appears the buyers must be happy with their survey as they've suggested exchange next week, completion the following one! It'll probably slip on those dates, but at least it's progression.
Thanks to everyone who lent their help/opinions and expertise.
