Probate timescales March 21

Hi, apologies its the perennial question of current probate timescales
my mother passed away June last year, due to delays in the final invoicing by the council the application to Hmrc for IHT was Oct 20, probate in November. IHT was paid 31st December but still waiting for the grant. Will was uncomplicated direct split between siblings and some legacies. Application submitted by solicitor as I didnt have the time or the will to complete I hr return! Does anyone have any experience of timescales in these instances, the solicitor says applications with Hmrc involvement seem to be having longer waits?

Have you asked the solicitor to chase the probate office? They should be able to give some idea of timescale or at least where it currently is?0
