furlough and holidays
I am currently on flexible furlough. My company has requested I only work 50% of my contracted hours. I have been told that I must take 5 days holiday by the end of April which I am fine with. However I am being told that I am not allowed to physically take the days off work and I am still required to work 50% of my contracted hours. However I will be reimbursed by receiving 100% pay for these 5 days. They company will utilise the furlough scheme to claim 80% of the holidays and top up the 20%.
Is it correct that I cannot be allowed take the holidays as actual time off from work?

The short answer is yes, the long answer is that it slightly more complicated, but yes.Summer_faye said:I am currently on flexible furlough. If you are contracted to work five days a week, you are working two and a half days a week and are flexi furloughed two and a half days a week they will be using the holiday days over the flexi furlough days. Rather than being paid only 80% for the days when you are flexi furloughed and on holiday at the same time you will be paid 100%.
You are getting the holidays as actual time off, you are getting five days of holiday, at full pay, whilst not having to work.Summer_faye said:Is it correct that I cannot be allowed take the holidays as actual time off from work?

Instead of being furloughed for 50 % of the time you will be on holiday for 50% of the time up to the 5 days. So 10 half days instead if 5 full days.0
