So far travel is still going to include covid tests so there's no gettting away from that. Hopefully that will become a lot easier when travel is reinstated. And there's still the chance of having to be isolated in a specified isolation hotel in whichever country should you fail the test before your return. This won't be covered by insurance I'm fairly sure.Having looked at the isolation hotels that's not a destination I'm keen on achieving

It lasts till the end of June but the reviewed it on 12 April and then every 35 days, ie 17 May, 21 June."The Secretary of State must review the need for the restrictions imposed by these Regulations by 12th April 2021 and thereafter at least once every 35 days from that date. "The govt have said earliest date for international travel is 17th May, but it's looking unlikely and if it is possible I guess the destinations would be very limited.

The law now restricts travel until end of June BUT the date can be changed until earlier if it is considered appropriate to do so.
Boris has stated it will not be changed to a date before 17 May but that does not mean it will change to that date.
If it does not, the law is already in place so the government do not need to change it.
If it still considered not safe to allow international travel after the end of June then the government will have to change it again.0 -
We pushed back a Rhine cruse from last year to June this year, and now really regret not waiting for it to be cancelled. Some of us are not desperate to get back to overseas travel and can’t fathom how it in not OK to meet family indoors in April but in May it will be OK to travel in an in close tin can with a bunch of strangers. My wife suffers anxiety issues, taking this holiday straight out of lockdown is not going to be good for her health and is likely to ruin what should be a great experience. In early March we were on the point of cancelling at a cost of around £900, but at the time the chances of travel looked exceedingly remote, and we also have the get out clause of being able to rebook for next year at a cost of £45 each, provided we do this before the final balance is due (19th April).
We have no intention of travelling in June, and as cancelling now will cost nearer £4K it looks like we will be kicking it down the road into 2022. this year is going to be catch up on missed family contact year, next year we can think about travelling further.0 -
