Tax credits when renting from ex partner

Hello all,
I am separated from my ex partner and co-parenting. At the moment unemployed due to covid19 and receiving Universal Credit( renting privately).
There might be an option for me to rent a flat from an ex partner as he received some inheritance and is able to get mortgage and buy a property. He said he would like to rent it out to me,to help out ( rent will be lower than average). As I understand I won't qualify for support with rent as it will be my ex partner's property and we share a child together. That's fine.
But would I still qualify for childcare support (UC equivalent to  tax credits/working tax credit element ) once  I start working again and if I live in ex partners rental property.
We could prove that we are separated( 7 years ago), son's school could verify as well.

Thanks for advice

You're already claiming UC and this is one benefit with different elements. If you're claiming for help with the rent at the moment this will stop if you move house and rent from your ex partner. Your work allowance will then increase from £292 per month to £512 per month, which means you can earn that amount of money before the 63% reductions apply. Use a benefits calculator with different figures to check entitlement. You can also claim up to 85% of childcare through UC if this is needed.

Contrary to title this thread is not about Tax Credits!
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
